I love this top image. The intensity of the gaze reminds me of the young girl's stare in the Spanish film Cría! (Cría cuervos in the original). The lighting is subtle yet precise and it has an edge of something else--the lighting in the film Elephant by Gus Van Sant? But less gritty so perhaps closer to something like La Ciénaga by Lucretia Martel. All beautifully shot films in their own right.
